For a CauseThe Aliferis Memorial Race honors Dr. Peter Aliferis, a dedicated pathologist who served the Alpena community for 37 years. This event celebrates his commitment to health and wellness, welcoming runners, walkers, and bikers of all ages and abilities. All proceeds directly support the Peter Aliferis Scholarship Fund, the Cancer Center, and patient enhancement projects at MyMichigan Medical Center Alpena, contributing to vital community health initiatives.

Join runners, walkers, and bikers of all ages and ability levels. Check-in and material distribution are located under the big tent on the campus of MyMichigan Medical Center Alpena. The course covers 13.1 miles.

From the organizer
Set in beautiful Northeast Michigan, the Aliferis Memorial Race is open to runners, walkers and bikers of all ages and ability levels. It is named in memory of long-time Alpena Pathologist Dr. Peter Aliferis. Dr. Aliferis earned his medical degree from the University of Michigan and joined the hospital in 1963, serving for many years as the pathologies and laboratory director. He touched the lives of many in our community during his 37-year tenure. This race is a celebration of his steadfast dedication to health and wellness.
All proceeds will benefit the Peter Aliferis Scholarship Fund, the Cancer Center and patient enhancement projects and new technology at MyMichigan Medical Center Alpena.
Registration and material distribution on the morning of the race is located on the campus of MyMichigan Medical Center Alpena, under the big tent on the corner of Chisholm/US-23 and Johnson Street. Check in begins at 7:00 am and continues until events begin.
