ABOUT BASE 2 SPACE
Scale the Space Needle’s two open-air staircases, taking in incredible views of downtown Seattle, Mt. Rainier, and the beauty of Puget Sound as you ascend 832 steps to the top of Seattle’s most iconic landmark! All donations raised for this charity stair climb go to Fred Hutch and the Space Needle Foundation. To date, Base 2 Space has raised over $4.5 million for groundbreaking cancer research.
The 10th annual Base 2 Space climb takes place Sunday, September 27, 2026. All participants will receive a t-shirt, finisher medal, and access to the Space Needle’s indoor and outdoor observation decks, including the world’s first and only revolving glass floor.

ABOUT FRED HUTCH CANCER CENTER
Fred Hutch Cancer Center unites individualized care and advanced research to provide the latest cancer treatment options while accelerating discoveries that prevent, treat, and cure cancer and infectious diseases worldwide.
Based in Seattle, Fred Hutch is an independent, nonprofit organization and the only National Cancer Institute-designated cancer center in Washington. We have earned a global reputation for our track record of discoveries in cancer, infectious disease, and basic research, including important advances in bone marrow transplantation, immunotherapy, HIV/AIDS prevention and COVID-19 vaccines. Fred Hutch operates eight clinical care sites that provide medical oncology, infusion, radiation, proton therapy and related services. Fred Hutch also serves as UW Medicine’s cancer program.
As we mark our 10th Anniversary in 2026, Fred Hutch, and the Space Needle, are looking beyond what’s possible today to a new era of discovery.
