Since 1973, Break Bread Together, a mission of First Presbyterian Church of Valdosta, has served some of the most vulnerable members of our community — elderly individuals who are homebound and unable to prepare meals or access local soup kitchens.
Monday through Friday, we deliver hot, nutritious meals to 35 seniors who are over the age of 65, living on no more than $1,287 a month, and without anyone to care for them. These meals provide more than just nourishment — for many, our volunteers are their only source of human contact. Studies have shown that seniors who are able to remain in their homes with support live longer, healthier, and more fulfilling lives. But the need is growing.
