The Build-N-Athlete 10K, 5K, & Kids Fun Run invites you to empower young athletes by breaking down financial barriers to youth sports. All proceeds directly support Build-N-Athlete, a nonprofit providing sports equipment to children in need across Northeastern Pennsylvania. Enjoy a fast and scenic course along the Lackawanna River Heritage Trail, whether you're aiming for a personal best or joining a community event. The Build-N-Athlete 10K, 5K & Kids Fun Run is more than just a race—it’s an opportunity to empower young athletes and break down financial barriers to youth sports. All proceeds from this event directly support Build-N-Athlete, a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing sports equipment to children in need throughout Northeastern Pennsylvania.

Set for Sunday, May 31, 2026, at the Blakely Borough Recreational Complex, the Build-N-Athlete race returns for its second year along the scenic Lackawanna River Heritage Trail. After a successful inaugural event, runners once again have the opportunity to take on the fast and scenic 5K or 10K courses, while walkers can participate at their own pace.

Whether you're chasing a personal record, looking for a fun community event, or running to support youth athletes, this race offers something for everyone.

What: 10K & 5K Run, Walk and Free Kids' Fun Run

Registration Fees:

$25 for 5K runners $35 for 10K runners $20 for walkers Free for the Kid's Run

T-Shirts: Unisex sport-tek T-shirts guaranteed if registered by Sunday 5/17. After that date, shirts will be first come, first served—so lock in your size and get ready to run for a great cause!

Day of Registration & Packet Pick-Up: 7:00 - 8:15 AM

Awards: The top overall male and female runners will receive awards for both the 5K and 10K races. Additional awards will be given to the top two male and female finishers in the following age groups for both races:

0-19 20-29 30-39 40-49 50-59 60-69 70+

Course Records The following course records were established during the inaugural 2025 Build-N-Athlete race:

NEW for 2026: If a runner breaks a course record, they will receive a cash prize.
