The Fizzy Mile is making a return for 2026! Prizes for 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and Average Joe. TRAINING TIME STARTS NOW!!!
Rules
- Each competitor drinks four cans of beer (or seltzers for non-alcoholic) and runs four laps (start with chugging a beer, then run a lap, then beer, then lap, then beer, then lap, then beer, then lap - finish).
- Beer/Seltzers must be consumed before the lap begins, within the transition area.
- The race begins with competitors lined up on the mile starting line, drinking the first beer/seltzer in the transition area described in the step above. This ensures competitors cover a complete mile. Competitors can walk/move in the transition area while drinking, but all beer/seltzer must be consumed in the transition area before setting off to run a lap.
- Competitors must drink canned beer (or seltzer) that is no less than 355mL (12 Oz) in volume. This years beer of choice will be chosen by last years Top 10 Finishers! (Beer must be a minimum of 5% alcohol by volume.)
- Cans must not be tampered with in any manner. (e.g. no shot gunning, puncturing the can, squeezing the can, etc.). No straws or other aids allowed that speed up the process. The only action allowed is opening the can with the tab at the top.
- Each beer can must not be opened until the competitor enters the transition area on each lap.
- Competitors who vomit before they finish the race must complete one penalty lap at the end of the race (immediately after the completion of their 4th lap). Vomiting more than once during the race still only requires one penalty lap at the end.
- Beer and Seltzer drinkers will have 2 different racing bib colors to identify racers!
Prizes: (FOR BEER RUNNERS ONLY... SORRY!)
1st Place: $200
2nd Place: $100
3rd Place: $50
