Walkers WelcomeThe 2026 Cheat Fest 5k offers a flat and fast experience on the paved Cheat River Rail Trail in Kingwood, WV. This event is a wonderful opportunity to support Friends of the Cheat, as all proceeds directly benefit their mission. After crossing the finish line, participants receive complimentary admission to the lively Cheat River Festival, making for a full day of community and celebration. Runners and walkers alike are welcome to enjoy the course and the post-race festivities.

Race starts at 10 am. The 5K will be held on Cheat River Rail Trail paved course on Saturday morning of Cheat River Festival near Kingwood, WV. Course is flat and fast!! Proceeds benefit Friends of the Cheat.
Every runner and walker gets a free admission to the Cheat River Festival after the race and a customized water bottle. There will be refreshments and awards.
