From the organizer
End the Silence 5K/Walk Hosted by the Shelby County Suicide Prevention CoalitionThe Shelby County Suicide Prevention Coalition invites veterans, active-duty service members, military families, and the community to join us for the End the Silence 5K/Walk, a meaningful event focused on suicide prevention, mental health awareness, and community support.
This event is an opportunity to come together in support of those who have served and those currently facing challenges. We recognize that many veterans carry invisible burdens, and this walk is a way to honor that service, raise awareness, and remind one another that help is available and no one has to face these struggles alone. Participants are encouraged to walk in honor of their service, in memory of fellow service members, or in support of those currently navigating mental health challenges. Together, we can foster connection, reduce stigma, and promote a culture where reaching out for help is seen as a sign of strength.
Day-of registration will be available, and participants are encouraged to arrive early to complete the required waiver.
Local food trucks will be on site during the event, with participating vendors donating a portion of their proceeds to support ongoing suicide prevention efforts in Shelby County.
Community sponsorships are available to ensure that cost is not a barrier to participation.
We especially encourage veterans and their families to attend and connect with others in a supportive, welcoming environment.
Walk together. Talk together. End the Silence.
