Race day (AI-assisted text)

Expect a friendly and organized race day, likely starting and finishing within Harry Myers Park. Packet pickup will probably be straightforward, with a buzz of anticipation as runners gather. The 1-Mile Fun Run will bring a joyful, less-pressured start, followed by the more focused 5K and 10K participants. Even if it rains, the race goes on, so be prepared for any weather. The awards ceremony will celebrate top finishers across various age groups, adding a competitive edge for those aiming for a podium spot.

The overall tone is encouraging and inclusive, welcoming everyone from serious competitors to casual strollers.

Weather snapshot (AI-assisted text)

Held in mid-April in Rockwall, Texas, you can generally expect mild and pleasant spring weather, with temperatures likely ranging from the 50s to 70s Fahrenheit. However, Texas springs can be unpredictable, so be ready for anything from a sunny, breezy day to potential rain showers, as the organizers plan to race rain or shine.

Terrain & course feel (AI-assisted text)

The course for the in-person 5K and 10K is described as a loop through Harry Myers Park and the surrounding neighborhood. This typically means paved paths and roads, likely with gentle undulations rather than significant hills. It should be a relatively smooth and accessible surface for most runners.
