The course

From the organizer

Join the Honey Brook Community Partnership to experience a 5K like no other! Set in the heart of the Lanchester Landfill & Reclamation Center, where nature and sustainability meet. This unique course offers a scenic and challenging run or walk on paved surfaces, wooded trails, grassy paths, and segments of the Lanchester Nature Trail.

Starting at the facility entrance (elevation 875 ft), runners and walkers will navigate a series of steady climbs and enjoy peaceful stretches through reclaimed landscapes. Two major hills define the course:

First Climb: Elevation gain from 919 ft to 1,056 ft through wooded and grassy paths Final Ascent to Eastern Overlook: Elevation gain from 1,020 ft to 1,156 ft on gravel roads, leading to panoramic views of the surrounding valley After reaching the overlook, runners and walkers will double back and enjoy a fast, mostly downhill finish to the starting line. Kids1 Mile Fun Run is on a mostly flat incline a half hour prior to the 5K, allowing parents or older siblings to run beside the child if they wish (required for children under 5 years).

Race proceeds go to support non-profit groups in the Honey Brook area that provide food and emergency support services to those in need in this community. Learn more about the Honey Brook Community Partnership at honeybrookpartnership.com
