The course

From the organizer

Many races claim to be hilly...this race/run is nothing but a hill. Morris Hill is a legendary landmark in the Monticello community. Come conquer a 1.2 mile uphill challenge in beautiful Monticello, KY! This race will be a vertical mile with over 650 ft. of elevation gain. Challenge yourself to run, walk, or crawl over the legendary hill here in Monticello. Are you up for the challenge of melting down on Morris Hill?

Packet pickup will be located at the Monticello Farmers Market. From there, you will be instructed to begin your (guided) approximate 5 minute walk to Morris Hill Rd for race start at 9:00 AM. Registration will end at 8:45 AM; fifteen minutes before race start. Feel free to ask questions beforehand about the course if you have not traveled the road before.

This race is a POINT TO POINT run/walk. Be prepared to walk/jog back to the farmers market for awards after the race. There will be overall awards for 18+ Men and Women; and sub-18 awards for boys and girls. 1ST PLACE MEN AND WOMEN WILL RECEIVE $150 CASH! ANY TIME FASTER THAN THE CURRENT COURSE RECORD (8:21, Ryder Bell, 2025) WILL BE AWARDED $300.00!

Planning ahead...we want this race to be a Monticello/Wayne County staple for years. This community, as beautiful as it is, deserves beautiful races. Let's start that with Morris Hill Meltdown!
