A new running off-road race on the Adirondack Rail Trail. Day before Mother's Day, Saturday May 9, 2026 starting at 1130a.  Out and Back event starting and,  finishing  at Bike Lake Placid (455 Old Military Rd).  Fun at the finish will allow everyone to enjoy a post-race celebration including food, drink, music and awards. Awards provided to the top 3 in the following categories:

Youth (up to age 20) U10 for MayDay 5K

Open (21-45) Masters (46 up)

The non binary category will be ageless

The race will feature a cup-less aid station/finish line supplying water and runners are encourage to bring their own vessel for water supply. This will help to reduce trash/create a more sustainable event. One on-course aid station will be located at the turn around just in the middle of the Ray Brook straightaway.  Parking will be provided at the LP Firehouse lot near to the start.

A stroller and pet-friendly race will begin at Bike Lake Placid just after the start of the 10K event. This event will be an out/back consisting of approximately 5 kilometers and limited in number of entrants to reduce trail congestion.  To allow for other Rail Trail users, wave starts may be utilized depending on the number of runners in all fields. A portion of the proceeds will be donated to the Adirondack Rail Trail Association(ARTA) and to the Tri Lakes Humane Society. Bring your pooch/kitty and a non-retractable leash and have fun ! Remember also- no kids under 13 are allowed to run with a dog.  Leash or not.

The entry fee includes racing, awards, pre and post race nourishment/festivities, deals at local businesses and a unique athlete gift.  Bib pickup starts at 10a on race day at the start.  Parking is available at the Lake Placid Firehouse parking lot with ADA parking at Bike Lake Placid.
