From the organizer
Join us for the NCLS Dragon’s Path AAPI 5K/1K Run & Walk — a joyful celebration of Mother’s Day, Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) Heritage Month, healthy living, and the vibrant spirit of our community!
This year’s event is especially meaningful as we celebrate the 20th anniversary of the NCLS Support Education Program (SEP) . Since its founding in 2006 by dedicated teachers and students, SEP has supported education in the U.S. and abroad through fundraising, volunteer initiatives, and scholarships.
Whether you’re running, walking, or cheering from the sidelines, all ages and abilities are welcome! Enjoy a flat, fast, tree-lined course along the scenic Wells Ave loop in Newton. Take in the beauty of spring, breathe the fresh air, and be part of a fun, energetic, and welcoming community event.
Event Highlights Include:
Pre-race warm-up activities Live performances after the race Delicious food and refreshments Fresh roses for all participants
This special event is proudly hosted by the Newton Chinese Language School (NCLS) — New England’s largest Chinese language school. Founded in 1959, NCLS has a 67-year legacy of preserving cultural heritage, promoting language learning, and fostering multicultural exchange. Today, NCLS serves over 800 families and 1,300 students, building strong intergenerational connections across the Greater Boston community.
We are proud to have Maggie Li & Co. as the Presenting Sponsor of this year’s event . We receive support including KACTUS and many other local businesses and runners’ support from local running clubs Boston Snail and the Cutler Running Club .
Come celebrate, connect, and make memories with us! Proceeds from the event will support NCLS programs, including the continued impact of SEP in advancing education access and cultural exchange.
Register today and be part of this meaningful and festive community gathering!
