Ocala Kids Run – 1 Mile Fun Run at Baseline Greenway

Think you're one of the fastest kids in Marion County? Prove it at the Ocala Kids Run, a FREE 1-mile chip-timed fun run happening Friday, August 29th at 8:30 AM at the scenic Baseline Greenway Trailhead. This event is proudly sponsored by the Ocala Distance Project.

Open to elementary and middle school students, this fun, fast race is perfect for young runners who want to test their speed and enjoy a great community event.  Every kid who finishes will get to choose a medal from our mystery box of finisher medals 🎖—leftovers from all our previous Ocala races.

📍 Location: Baseline Greenway Trailhead, Ocala, FL

🕣 Start Time: 8:30 AM

💰 Cost: FREE with advance registration | $15 on race day

About the Ocala Distance Project The Ocala Distance Project is a local running club dedicated to developing young distance runners in Marion County. Through structured training, mentorship, and community events, ODP supports elementary, middle, and high school athletes in building confidence, character, and competitive fitness. Whether athletes are just getting started or chasing state and national goals, the Ocala Distance Project provides the coaching and culture to help them succeed—on and off the course.
