Boy Scout Troop 407 is planning the  14th Annual Pleasant Mount Firecracker 5K Race!

For Troop 407, this event is an annual fundraiser to support our scouts and their participation at summer camp.  This 6-day camp helps our scouts with their physical, social and mental development.  Young people are our future - and scouting plays an integral role in developing our young scouts into tomorrow's community leaders.  For many of our families, the cost of camp is prohibitive and so we work to support this very important experience for our scouts.

Equally important, the Firecracker 5K kicks off the Fourth of July celebration in Pleasant Mount, PA.  Following the race, our community comes together for a wonderful holiday parade, followed by festivities and celebration at the Pleasant Mount Community Center.  Anyone who has attended in years past knows that our Independence Day represents the heart and soul of small town USA.

Participants are able to choose to run or walk the event course.  However, all participants must be able to complete the event within one hour, as our parade day immediately follows.

Our race will start promptly at 7:30 am, on Friday, July 4th.  We are using a professional timer - Finish Strong Timing, LLC - and all 5K participants will have chipped numbers for accurate and quick results.

Discounts for race fees are available until June 15th!  Discount schedule is as follows:

Until May 30th, registration is $20 per participant From May 31st through June 15th, registration is $25 per participant After June 15th, registration is $30 per participant Participants can register online until July 3rd at 12pm!!

Children 10 and under are FREE and can register online .

To be guaranteed a commemorative race T-shirt, you must register AND select your shirt size by June 20, 2026.

Awards will be presented as follows: 5K Participants - 1st, 2nd & 3rd place for each age category listed below. Overall finishers: Male and Female
