From the organizer
Join us for the 2026 Race 4 Independence. This is a 5K walk/run and a 2.5K walk/run. This event will also have several options for a 2.5K walk/run/stroll for people with disabilities (wheelchair, assisted walking, and low-vision). The League's mission is to provide and promote opportunities to allow people with disabilities to achieve their full potential. We strive to help people with disabilities remain independent or achieve independence.
The League was established in 1950. We have been serving people with disabilities for over 75 years.
There are over 90,000 people with disabilities in Fort Wayne and another 22,000 in the surrounding counties. As the need for services and programs grows, The League steps up to the challenge. We have over 14 programs and services, and serve the 11 counties in Northeast Indiana. We could not do what we do without the support of our community. Thank you for joining us to raise awareness and support for people with disabilities.

Race Day Information:
Location: Purdue Fort Wayne Alumni Plaza (2101 E. Coliseum Blvd, Fort Wayne, IN 46805) This area is located between the Walb Student Union and the Library off Walb Circle Drive.
Parking: Parking is free and available in P2 (Parking Garage 2) next to the Walb Student Union Race Packets and Pick-up: Race Packets, Bibs, and T-shirts will be available at 7:30 AM on the day of the event (July 26, 2025) Day of Registration is Available: Online Only Weather Related Issues:
The Race Team will use Weatherbug for any severe or adverse weather conditions. Barring severe storms and lightening, the race will continue as scheduled. If delays due to weather are required, all participants will receive a notification from the RunSignUp App with the information.
