From the organizer
Relay Elementary School Full Steam Ahead 1 mile run/walk aims to bring our community together for a morning of movement and merriment. The 2026 event will be a color run! All registrants receive a FREE Kona Ice 9oz treat and photobooth photo strip. Come enjoy a fun morning of games, music, and school spirit!
What's a color run? It is a non-competitive run/walk where participants wear white and get doused in vibrant color powder. Our color run stations will be located around the 1mi loop. Participants are encouraged to wear a white shirt or bandana and walk through the color stations to get color powder on their clothes.*
What to expect: This is a 1 mile loop traversing paved and grassy surfaces in and around Relay Elementary property. It is considered stroller-friendly over multi-terrain areas.
Our event will have staggered starts by grade waves. This is an untimed run/walk, but participants may use stopwatches or other gear to time themselves. If a youth participant is trying to race themselves, please consider having them line up at the start of their grade wave. Participants may walk, run, skip and dance their way through the course.
Families may self-select the wave they wish to participate in, e.g. 5th grade children who wish to walk with younger siblings during a 2nd grade wave may do so. Safety is a number 1 priority and being aware of other participants on and off the course requires adult supervision. Students may not participate without a parent/guardian present.
Strollers will start at the rear of each wave.
Pets are not allowed at this event. Service and working animals are allowed per ADA law.
*The powder is temporary and will wash off - but bring a towel or change of clothes if you are concerned about transfer in your vehicle.
