The Resolution Run: One Last Run
December 31, 2026 marks the 44th Annual Reeds Lake Resolution Run—a New Year’s Eve tradition in East Grand Rapids. This 4-mile course around Reeds Lake is USATF certified, giving runners and walkers a fast, accurate loop to close out 2026.
The main race begins at 2:00 PM, starting near East Grand Rapids Middle School and finishing in front of Collins Park. The Kids Race returns at 1:30 PM for ages 12 and under, with their own course and disco-ball medals waiting at the finish.
Since 1982, when Joe O’Brien first gathered runners for this end-of-year tradition, the Resolution Run has been more than a race. It’s a moment to show up, take stock, and head into a new year with intention. Year after year, runners and walkers come out—no matter the weather—to keep it going.
We’ll do it again in 2026, and continue Joe’s legacy of giving back by supporting Guiding Light Works.
