The 2nd Annual Risen Ruck 5K GORUCK Event

This is an official GORUCK event lead by cadre from Sua Sponte Ruckers

The Risen Ruck 5K GORUCK Event is an opportunity to bring the community together in Christian fellowship while reflecting on the significance of the resurrection of Jesus Christ. This faith-based ruck march is open to all people, regardless of fitness level, and will challenge participants physically and spiritually through team workouts and short devotional stops after each mile.

GORUCK Event Format:

• 5K Ruck March: Participants will complete a 5K (3.1-mile) ruck march while carrying a rucksack (backpack) with a prescribed weight. There will be an additional team weight that you will carry throughout the event as a team.

• Workout Stations: At each mile marker, teams will complete group exercises to reinforce teamwork and endurance.

• Devotionals: Following each workout, someone will lead a 3-5 minute devotional focused on the resurrection of Jesus Christ.

Rucking Requirements:

• Participants must bring their own ruck (backpack) with an Army standard weight of approximately 35 lbs dry weight (before adding food, hydration, or snacks).

• Youth participants (under 15 years old) are exempt from the 35 lb requirement. Instead, they may carry a ruck weighing:

• 10 lbs if under 150 lbs body weight

• 20 lbs if over 150 lbs body weight

• Rucks will be weighed before the event begins. Those who do not meet the weight requirement will not be eligible to receive the GORUCK event patch, but may be eligible to receive the standard event patch.

Who Can Participate?

This event is open to everyone! However, if you prefer not to ruck, you are encouraged to purchase a commemorative T-shirt and walk alongside participants in support. Even if you chose not to purchase a commemorative T-Shirt you are encouraged to join us in the march.

Event Gear & Patches:

GORUCK Finishers Patch: All participants that purchase a GORUCK package who complete the full 5K ruck with the required weight will receive an official GORUCK patch as a symbol of their perseverance and commitment.

Commemorative T-Shirt: Those not participating in the GORUCK event can still purchase a T-shirt to support the event and walk with the group.

Registration & Deadlines:

Registration Deadline: March 20, 2026 (to guarantee event gear). Participants who do not desire event related gear can signup until the day of the event, April 04, 2026.

Limited Slots Available: Participation for the official GORUCK event is limited, and slots will be assigned on a first-come, first-serve basis.

Parking: Available at Spring Park in Downtown Tuscumbia, AL.
