The 16th Annual Telluride Foundation: Run for Good Telluride's Fourth of July Foot Race
What: The 16th Annual Telluride Foundation Rundola benefitting the Good Neighbor Fund. The Rundola is an open registration uphill foot race from Telluride to San Sophia ridge.
Where: Runners start at the base of the gondola on the town of Telluride side and finish at the top of the ridge. Runners and hikers will climb up the Telluride Trail (4,600 feet long, 40 feet wide with a 13% grade) There is an elevation gain of 1,810 feet. NOTE THAT PER USFS DIRECTION, YOU CAN ONLY PARTICIPATE ON TELLURIDE TRAIL.
When: The run will start at 7:30 A.M. on July 4th. Runners should walk back to Telluride or Mountain Village after the race. The finish line & timing will close at 9:30 a.m.
Who: Anyone who wants to race, run, hike! You must be registered and have a race bib to participate. No dogs, please!
Categories: By age group & gender (13 years & under; 14-18 years; 19-29; 30-39; 40-49; 50-59; 60-69, 70-79, 80+)
Why: Along with incorporating a fun outdoor challenge into our community's 4th of July festivities, all proceeds from the Rundola benefit The Good Neighbor Fund (GNF). GNF provides emergency assistance for local families and individuals with limited resources in times of financial crisis. The goal of the GNF is to help individuals stay in the community and households stay intact during times of financial crisis. The Fund achieves this by providing one-time hardship grants to assist with certain qualified needs, including housing, transportation or medical treatment.
Awards: Podium and breakfast will be held at Oak at 9 a.m . Medals will be awarded to the top 3 athletes in each category. Fastest Overall Woman & Fastest Overall Man receive a grand prize.
