From the organizer
Kentucky State Police Post 15 - Columbia presents this 5K evening run/walk on the banks of beautiful Green River Lake. This chip-timed event will be a high-energy event that will include a DJ and music. There will also be lights, glowsticks, and State Police cruisers throughout the course to illuminate the evening. The race will start and end at the Green River State Park Campground pavilion. Come join us at this rare evening, 5K, and have an opportunity to support children in our community.
All proceeds from this event will benefit the KSP Post 15 “Shop with a Trooper” program. This program allows less fortunate children in our 11-county post area the opportunity to go Christmas shopping with Troopers for clothing items and toys. Troopers take children shopping who otherwise may not receive any gifts for Christmas. While shopping, children interact with Troopers and develop a positive relationship with them. The "Shop with a Trooper" program operates solely from community donations. Several designs of KSP supporter t-shirts and hats will be available for purchase at the event.
