The course

From the organizer

R.I.S.E. (Resilient Individuals Striving for Excellence) Shreveport is a nonprofit corporation organized exclusively for charitable and educational purposes. We are centered on identifying and equipping individuals with the tools that are needed to be successful. Although newly recognized as a nonprofit, our charitable purposes began in 2012. We seek to empower, educate, and entertain. Our mission is “Building Healthy Communities by helping individuals tap into their own resiliency.” Simply put, our philosophy is “Where Resiliency Meets Resources.” The Northwest Louisiana Education and Leadership Training Foundation (N.E.L.T) prepares students ages 13 to 18 for educational, occupational, and social guidance. It was founded as a result of the direct need for mentorship in the Caddo/Bossier Parish Public/Private School System. Dedicated to youth and community service, N.E.L.T, promotes cultural diversity, provides extensive instruction that encompasses students holistic development, and seeks partnership with local government agencies and educational institutions.

Our mission is “To Help Our Youth Prepare For, Gain Acceptance To, and Graduate From College.” Our work is having a positive impact on our students. We want to continue to give back to the community and we want to include YOU! By joining the Run to Your Health 5K, you are supporting our goals of empowering, educating, and entertaining. Everybody does not need the same kind of help but one thing is for sure, everybody needs help at one time or another.
