This event is more than just a race — it is a community-wide Back-to-School Supply Drive designed to help students begin the school year prepared while supporting teachers who often purchase classroom supplies out of pocket. Unlike a traditional race event, there is NO standard registration fee to participate. Instead, participants are encouraged to support the mission by donating school supplies during packet pickup or on race day. The SAPD 5K welcomes: Runners Walkers Families Stroller participants Community groups Public safety teams Schools Running clubs First-time participants The event also includes a free community Health Fair featuring wellness resources, youth programs, public safety education, giveaways, and family-friendly activities. Registration & Timing Information The SAPD 5K will be officially timed by IAAPWEB. The first 500 registered participants will receive: Free event T-shirt Official race bib Chip timing Eligibility for timed race results and finisher recognition All participants must complete the online waiver before participating. After the First 500 Registrations Once the first 500 sponsored participant spots are filled, registration will remain open for continued community participation. Additional participants are still welcome to: Run the official 5K course Walk the event Support the Back-to-School Drive Participate in the Health Fair Participants registering after the first 500 may still participate by registering online and bringing any level of school supply donation on the date of the event. Due to limited sponsored supplies, participants after the first 500 will not receive: Event T-shirt Race bib Timing chip We especially encourage: Running clubs Fitness groups Schools Community organizations Public safety teams Military groups Corporate wellness teams to continue coming out and supporting the community mission of the event by representing their organizations, team colors, and community spirit. You Can Still Support the Cause Community members may still support the Back-to-School Drive without participating in the race. Community members may support the cause through: Blue Cares – SAPOA Outreach Please use the official donation portal and select: “Specific Program” “Back to School Drive” Community Health Fair Family members, supporters, and community guests are invited to attend the free Health Fair during the event. The Health Fair may include: Health & wellness organizations Fitness and nutrition resources Youth safety programs Educational services Community outreach organizations Public safety resources Family-friendly activities Giveaways and promotional items Approved vendors participate at no cost while supporting the community mission of the event. Service Animal & Pet Guidance SeaWorld San Antonio is ADA compliant and welcomes trained service animals in accordance with venue policy. For the SAPD 5K event: Service animals must remain leashed and under control at all times All animals brought onsite must be housebroken Emotional support animals are not permitted Cats and non-approved animals are not permitted at the event Participants are encouraged to notify event staff if bringing a service animal to assist with event accommodations. SeaWorld San Antonio also offers onsite kennel services for guests who may need temporary pet accommodations during the event. This may be helpful for participants unable to arrange pet sitting on race day. Final animal access remains subject to SeaWorld venue policies and operational guidance. SAPD 5K Fun Run & Health Fair Vendor Participation Requirements & Sign-Up Portal About the SAPD 5K Health Fair The SAPD 5K Fun Run & Health Fair is a community-focused Back-to-School event designed to bring together families, students, educators, public safety personnel, healthcare organizations, nonprofits, and local businesses in support of Edgewood ISD students and teachers. Unlike a traditional race event, the SAPD 5K does not require a standard registration fee for participation. Instead, community members are encouraged to support local students by donating school supplies as their entry contribution. The event combines a 5K Fun Run, community health fair, school supply drive, wellness outreach event, and family resource fair into one collaborative community experience. The Health Fair portion of the event is intended to provide meaningful engagement, education, wellness resources, and positive community interaction for attendees of all ages. We are actively seeking vendors and organizations that support: Health & wellness Fitness & nutrition Educational resources Family services Youth programs Mental health support Public safety education School readiness programs Community outreach services Nonprofit and public service organizations Vendors who provide interactive booths, educational materials, family-friendly activities, giveaways, wellness screenings, or community resources are highly encouraged to participate. Event Purpose The SAPD 5K Fun Run & Health Fair is a free community event held in conjunction with the 2nd Annual SAPD Back-to-School Drive benefiting Edgewood ISD students, families, and teachers. Approved vendors are invited at no cost to provide educational, wellness, health, fitness, safety, and community resources in a positive, family-friendly environment. Event Details Date: Sunday, July 26, 2026 Location: SeaWorld San Antonio – Ports of Call Event Hours: 7:00 AM – 10:30 AM Vendor Registration Deadline: June 15, 2026 Vendor Registration Opens: May 8, 2026 Final participation subject to venue approval Vendor Expectations No Vendor Fee There is no vendor fee to participate; however, vendors are strongly encouraged to support the Back-to-School Drive through school supply donations benefiting Edgewood ISD students, families, and teachers. Community Engagement Participating vendors are expected to: Maintain a positive, family-friendly environment Provide educational, health, wellness, or community resources Operate professionally and respectfully Support the overall community mission of the event Promotional Giveaways Promotional giveaway items are encouraged and may include: Pens Water bottles Bags Educational materials Wellness items Small branded promotional products All giveaway items must remain family-friendly and appropriate for a community event. Beverage & Snack Guidance SeaWorld Sponsorship Requirements Due to existing venue sponsorship agreements at SeaWorld San Antonio, only Coca-Cola products may be distributed during the event. Important Notes Pepsi products or competing beverage brands may not be distributed onsite. Vendors wishing to provide drinks, snacks, hydration items, or refreshments must use Coca-Cola products only unless otherwise approved by venue management. Any food, beverage, or snack distribution remains subject to final venue approval. Examples of generally acceptable items may include: Coca-Cola products Dasani water Powerade Minute Maid products Setup / Load-In Expectations Preferred Pre-Setup (Strongly Encouraged) To reduce congestion and improve event-day operations, vendors are encouraged to pre-stage equipment if approved by venue operations. Available Pre-Setup Dates Friday, July 24, 2026 Saturday, July 25, 2026 Pre-staging helps improve traffic flow near packet pickup and participant arrival areas. Event Day Setup If not pre-staged, vendors must arrive during the assigned load-in window: Sunday, July 26, 2026 0500 – 0700 hours Early arrival is strongly recommended due to pedestrian traffic and packet pickup operations beginning at 0530 hours. Venue Rules / Restrictions (Subject to final venue confirmation) No balloons No confetti No streamers No loose materials that may blow away No blocking emergency access routes No unauthorized sound amplification Vendors must remain within assigned booth space Vendors must follow assigned setup and teardown timelines Vendor breakdown / teardown begins at 10:30 AM All vendors should be cleared from the venue area by approximately 11:30 AM unless otherwise directed by event staff or venue operations. Booth Equipment Expectations Vendors are responsible for bringing their own setup materials. Recommended Items Table Chairs Tent or canopy (optional) Educational displays Promotional materials Branded signage Utilities No electrical power will be available for vendor booths. Battery-powered devices or portable fans are recommended if needed. School Supply Donations A designated donation drop-off location will be available near packet pickup for vendors and participants wishing to support the school supply drive.
