Ready. Set. Race! This important charity event is SNIPSA’s largest fundraiser to raise awareness about the plight of homeless dogs and cats in our area. Race for the Rescues is a pet-friendly 5k course beginning at the Alamo Heights swimming pool in San Antonio.

You have the option to run/walk the race by yourself, with your dog(s) or in a team. All proceeds from the race support SNIPSA’s spay/neuter outreach in the community and provide veterinary care for our rescue animals. We invite you to bring your family, friends and - of course - your dog! COURSE: Alamo Heights Swimming Pool 250 Viesca, San Antonio, TX 78209 The race course is semi-challenging around Alamo Heights area. View the race course HERE. PRE-REGISTRATION Pre-register online at snipsa. org and runsignup. com PACKET PICK-UP September 26, 2025 12:00 noon - 7:00 pm SNIPSA Office 4216 McCullough Ave. San Antonio, TX 78212 EVENT FEES*: 5K Individual Run for Competitive Runners without Dogs $40 5k Individual Walk/Run $40 (with or without dogs) 5K Children Walk/Run $25 5K Team Entry (10 person minimum) Walk/Run $35 *No refunds. 100% of proceeds will be used to fund animal medical needs. TEAMS – Once you reach the minimum of 10 runners, you will get a $5 refund. This is to ensure that you have a minimum of 10 runners per team. HOW TO REGISTER YOUR TEAM: 1. Pick your event 2. If you are creating a group choose “create a group/team” 3. If you are joining a team, choose “join an existing team" and find the name of the team you want to join 4. Click continue and fill the rest of the info. AWARD CATEGORIES: Awards will be in the form of medals (gold, silver, bronze) given for: 1st Overall M/F Top 3 M/F w/dog (runner and dog must run and cross the finish line together) 1st Master (over 50) M/F Top 3 M/F in the following age groups (Individual 5K only): 14 and under, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70 and older. *All awards will be based on chip time. Winners are not eligible for multiple awards.
