From the organizer
Helping to Heal! The 13th Annual Spirit of the Valley Run, Walk 'N Roll 1K and 5K timed races are set for Saturday September 13, 2025. Runners, walkers and rollers are all welcome for a great morning of competition, fun, food, and rock ‘n roll. The race will benefit two local organizations - the VA Recreational Therapy Program on the Western Slope and Hilltop's Latimer House.
The race starts and ends at St. Matthew’s Episcopal Church, at the corner of 27 ½ Rd. and Cortland Ave., followed by live rock ‘n roll music.
A sack brunch will be served to all participants and volunteers. Additional meal tickets are $7 and are available at the door.
Vetted and trained childcare is available at St. Matthew's Episcopal Church on a donation basis.
If you want to participate but don't want to walk, run, or roll we welcome your sponsorship!
Register early to guarantee you get a t-shirt. Entry fees are non-refundable.
VA Recreational Therapy Program
The VA Recreational Therapy Program is not tax funded and relies solely on donations. The therapy program introduces local disabled vets to community recreational programs- fishing, kayaking, biking, etc. This money used goes directly back into our community- whether it’s a swimming lesson at OM pool, bike equipment from a local bike shop, or fishing at one of our lakes.
Latimer House
Hilltop's Latimer House helps those who have experienced domestic violence or sexual assault move from crisis to confidence. Latimer House provides intimate partner violence and sexual assault services for anyone in Western Colorado including Mesa, Montrose, Delta and Ouray Counties. They offer emergency safe houses, advocacy, and 24 hour crisis lines.
