Start Time: 7:30am – Cut off 11:30am
Estimated Participants: 10- 65 runners for first year
The Stone Tower Half Marathon is a trail running event designed to showcase the
historic Stone Tower and the rugged terrain of Lynn Woods Reservation. The race
emphasizes sustainability, safety, and minimal environmental impact while offering a
challenging and memorable experience for participants.
The event will prioritize environmental stewardship, community engagement, and a
safe, well-managed race experience.
Course Description
Total Distance: 13.1 miles
Loop Structure: Three identical 4.44-mile loops
Elevation: Rolling to challenging, with notable climbs
Terrain: Forested singletrack, rocky New England trails, wide carriage roads
Course Flow (Per Loop)
1. Start at Lynn Woods Reservation parking lot
2. Run out on Great Woods Road
3. Turn South (Left) on Penny Brook Rd
4. Turn on Waycross Road
5. Right on Cooke Road
6. Left on GW Rd. Return to start/finish area
All participant and volunteer parking will be located in the main Lynn Woods Reservation parking lot - Volunteers will assist with parking flow and pedestrian safety - The start/finish area will also host packet pickup, timing equipment, medical support, and post-race recovery
The centralized start/finish minimizes park impact and simplifies operations.
The goal would be to utilize the lot as early as possible so most runners have exited by late morning.
