The Stumpy 5k is back! Start your 4th of July off with Stumpy's 5k. This 5K out and back takes you through scenic downtown Shirland, IL, through the rolling hills of the countryside to say a quick hello to Stumpy, then back. Join us and make your own 4th of July tradition!

The 1 Mile Fun Run/Walk begins at the school and takes you through scenic downtown Shirland, IL and back. The race begins and ends at Shirland Grade School located at 8020 North St. Shirland, IL 61079 All proceeds of this event will be donated to Shirland Grade School! If you would prefer to not run/walk and would like to make a donation, please click the donate button and your donation will be graciously accepted. REGISTER BY JUNE 19, 2026 TO BE GUARANTEED A TIMING CHIP & COLLECTORS EDITION T-SHIRT! Registration Includes: Limited edition Stumpy T-shirt Finisher Medal Race Bib: Chip timed 5k run/walk Results Posted Online Start time : 7:30AM 5K and 1 Mile Fun Run/Walk There will be a water station at the Stumpy turn around for 5K participants Packet pick-up will be held in front of Shirland Grade School (8020 North St. Shirland, IL) on Friday, July 3rd, 2024 from 4:00-6:00 PM . Same day packet pickup available starting at 6:30AM in front of the school. There will be no same day registration this year. Registration closes on July 4 at 12:00 AM Where should you park? Please park before the starting line along Shirland Rd or Boswell Rd(indicated in red below). Its only a short walk from the start and will help reduce traffic on race route before and after the race. Thanks!
