Summer Rec Jamboree 5K, 1-Mile Fun Run & Kids Race
Kick off summer with energy, community, and hometown pride at the Martinsville Summer Rec Jamboree 5K, 1-Mile Fun Run, and Kids Race. Hosted by Martinsville on the Move in partnership with the Martinsville Summer Recreation Board , this event is more than just a race—it’s a celebration of summer, sports, and community.
Join us as we welcome a new season of softball, baseball, and tee ball , while also showcasing new features at the Outdoor Recreation Complex , including the basketball and pickleball courts . Whether you’re chasing a PR, walking with friends, or cheering on your kids, there’s something for everyone at this family-friendly event.
Event Highlights
5K Race: A mostly paved course with approximately 25% on the Woodlands and Martinsville Ridgelawn Biking and Hiking Trail 1-Mile Fun Run: A paved route on local roads for runners and walkers of all ages Kids Race: A fun lap around the outside of the baseball field Jamboree Activities: Pickleball tournament, team photos, parade, bounce houses, and food trucks This race is part of a larger community celebration marking the beginning of summer recreation in Martinsville. It’s a chance to come together, enjoy a great day outdoors, and support the programs that give local kids opportunities to play, compete, and grow.
All proceeds go back into the Martinsville Summer Recreation Program.
