The Big Run
Lace up your running shoes and join us for The BIG Run, a free 5K fun run in celebration of Global Running Day—brought to you by Brooks! Enjoy music, local coffee, yoga, and more!
We'll kick the morning off with a high-energy group warmup led by Black Girls RUN! ambassador, Eleanor, then hit the course for a scenic 5K around WakeMed Soccer Park. All participants will receive a fun finisher medal to commemorate the day. After you cross the finish line, stick around for post-run yoga to stretch it out and unwind, all to the beats of DJ Butta.
Refuel and relax with a fresh, local coffee or bite from Sipside Coffee’s food truck, and soak up the good vibes with fellow runners. It's the perfect way to move, connect, and celebrate the joy of running.
All ages and paces welcome – bring your friends and family!
Let’s make it BIG.
NOTE: This is not a race, it's a celebratory 5K fun run. There is not official timing or results. All runners will receive a "medal."
The run follows the marked cross country course at Wake Med Soccer Park which is mostly grass and dirt. The course may be difficult to navigate with a stroller. Unfortunately, dogs are not allowed at the park/on the course.
Schedule:
7:30am: Warm up with Black Girls RUN!; Pre-run announcements
8:00am: The run will begin
9:00am - 11:00am: Dean Self from YogaSix will be leading a post-run yoga cooldown; Stick around afterward to enjoy food trucks, music from a local DJ, giveaways from vendors, and much more!
