The 17th Annual BCH Foundation Trestle Hustle invites runners and duathletes to Madrid, IA. Choose between a 5K or 10K run, or challenge yourself with a Duathlon (2-mile run, 14-mile bike, 2-mile run). The 10K route offers the unique experience of crossing the High Trestle Trail Bridge. This event, hosted by the Boone County Hospital Foundation, welcomes all abilities aged 14 and over, with options for younger participants accompanied by an adult. Chip-timed results and awards for top finishers add a competitive edge.

Join us for our 17th Annual Trestle Hustle hosted by the Boone County Hospital Foundation. For the 2026 event, we are offering an in-person event and a virtual option.
All abilities are welcome, ages 14 and over. Participants of any age are welcome with a parent or guardian's signed consent. However, children ages 13 and under must be accompanied by an adult during the race. Athletes can choose to complete a Duathlon (2-mile run, 14-mile bike, 2-mile run) OR a 5K or 10K run on Saturday, June 20, beginning at 8:00 AM at the Madrid High Trestle Trail, beginning at Dalander Park / Johnson Trailhead (702 E 3rd St, Madrid, IA 50156).
Our races will be chip-timed by True Time Racing Services. Age categories will be: 19 and under, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60+.
Please Note: If you want to run over the High Trestle Trail Bridge, the 10K is the only race to cross the bridge.
Earlybird pricing is available through May 11 $50 - 5K/10K $70 – DUATHLON
After May 11, pricing increases $65 - 5K/10K $85– DUATHLON
Virtual athletes will complete the race anytime between June 19-21.
Packet pick-up will be available the morning of the race, beginning at 7:00 am.
Day of: Staff will provide hand sanitizer, fresh wipes, trash cans and bags, and other necessary cleaning supplies. Handwashing stations and portable toilets will be provided.
VIRTUAL PARTICIPANTS CAN SUBMIT TIME ANY TIME BETWEEN JUNE 19-21 To enter a virtual race time 1. Go to the link (emailed to you) 2. Search for your name and click the "Submit Virtual Time" link next to your name 3. Enter your total running time and Date of Birth (to verify it is you) 3a. Optional: submit a STRAVA, Garmin, Fitbit link from your run 4. Click the submit button
After following these steps, your running time will be displayed on the results page. The age group and overall placement will be updated daily during the results submission period.
Food and Awards We will provide "grab and go" foods such as granola bars and bottled water.
Participants will receive a Finisher's Medal upon completion of the race. We will also award both male and female 1st, 2nd & 3rd places in each event and age category for the in-person event. Virtual participants will be mailed a finisher's medal the week of June 21, 2026. If you have questions or need anything additional, please let us know at events@bchmail.org.
