The Anniston Youth Runners Club is a FREE program. It is dedicated to fostering a love for running among the youth of Anniston. Our mission is to encourage physical fitness, personal growth, and a sense of community through the sport of running. Open to children and teenagers of all skill levels, the club offers a supportive and fun environment where young runners can develop their abilities, set personal goals, and build lifelong healthy habits.
Our Monthly Mileage Program begins in January and runs through to November. The ARC Youth Runners Program will meet weekly starting in March and ending in July with skill-building sessions, and team-building activities. Additionally, we participate in local and regional races, including the Canyon Climb 1 mile and Woodstock 1K or 5K, allowing our members to test their skills in a competitive yet encouraging atmosphere. Beyond running, the Anniston Youth Runners Club emphasizes the importance of teamwork, discipline, and sportsmanship. We strive to instill values that will benefit our members both on and off the track. From celebrating individual achievements to fostering friendships, our club is about creating a positive and motivating community for young runners.
Whether your child is a budding athlete or simply looking for a fun way to stay active, the Anniston Youth Runners Club welcomes everyone with open arms. Join us on this exciting journey towards fitness, friendship, and fun! This is a great first introduction to kids up to 11 years old who have never run before. 12-year-olds are welcome to join and train as they transition from the Woodstock 1K to the Woodstock 5K.
Registration opens in December 2025.
T-shirts have been donated this year from a kind sponsor.
